In 2008, the Foundation experienced a significant decrease in its endowment as have many other foundations.  The amount we will grant in 2009, therefore, will be close to 40% lower than the amount we have granted in recent years. 

We will not be able to fund all the organizations we have traditionally supported, nor will we grant to organizations we have not funded in the past.  As equity markets recover and the Foundation's endowment grows, we plan to increase our granting proportionately.  

The Brett Family Foundation remains committed to continuing our support of the important work our grantees do to make our state a more just and caring place to live.
